NatMuLab#14

Don't you love a strong Black woman or man bringing to the world a VERY powerful, inspiring message?

I do. I do. I love the message in this video sooo much. There are so many positive images that I just couldn't count them all! From beginning to end...I LOVE THIS VIDEO. So, Yes, Tonight's NATMULAB is dedicated to Black Kings and Queens everywhere. The Queens like Esperanza rocking a natural hair do', or a Positive Father figure involved in his child's life.....etc.Whatever the case, if you fit the mold...You are " Black Gold." Remember the influential quote that says: You can't know where you're going until you know where you've come from. This video puts focus on that.I Love you all. Hope you enjoy Esperanza, with her dope lyrics, sensational voice and the teachable moments in this video.

Hair How-To: Finger Coils

So, this week on Sunday or Monday, I did coils in my hair. I really love the style. It is effortless, simple, and plain ole convenient.
I did find a down side to my style of choice this week, and it was my gel. After the hair dried, For the first time EVER -My hair dried white, with flaky white residue. Ewwww.
It's barely even noticeable, but I wanted to share my method. Hope you enjoy it anyhow. Peace!

Prod. Review

So, most women love diamonds, and jewels and any  OR all accessories right?
Well, via FB, I met a natural curlfriend named Sheeba Chastang. She sells jewlery, and unique accessories. The twist to her company, Urban Vibe, Inc. is that she crochets everything by hand. I love her pieces. I even won a few items in a giveaway a month ago! I was so happy!

Yes, that's right. This young, Black sistah with a entrepreneur, business savvy mind is doing things and making waves online. She has an etsy shop, a website, Fb fan page, blog and her pieces are FAN-TAB-ULOUS!
I added a pic of me wearing 2 of her pieces:1) a yellow, crocheted headband, 2) crocheted circle earrings. I want you to show our fellow natural curlfriend some love. Oh, and spread the word.Enjoy!

Urban Vibe, Inc.

Note: My hair has been up for almost two weeks  this week and is holding up well, I think. Got 2 compliments on my headband today! Yay.

Discussion#4

So, I posed this question on FB earlier in the week via my FB fan page.
BLACKSISTAH BLOG FAN PAGE

Q:
Think about your natural hair. What did you find was a challenge in the beginning? And what do you find is a challenge now?
A:When I think of my hair in its natural state circa 6 years ago, my answer would have been learning to manage it. Applying this question to my life NOW, I would say detangling. I have not always known how to properly detangle my hair. My shrinkage is major, and I would basically rush through the detangling method and start a style. This was bad causing many split ends, breakage and damage to my hair shaft.
But I have recently learned a new detangling method, and I love it! Will share soon!!!!

We would love for you to chime in on our discussion topic. What are your thoughts? Let a sistah know below..................Thanks!

Hey All! Here is my hair for today. It's all twisted up. First, I detangled my hair with my finger to remove any and all shed hair. Then I used my comb, and my paddle brush to detangle FULLY. Next, I applied my Shea butter. Sealed my ends with castor oil. I am on a protective style challenge til March 19th. Let's see if I last.LOL

Discussion #3

So, I was in my Natural Hair group on Facebook.com, and I see a post from Miss Lady Key's Fan Page....The Question was so intriguing I just had to bring it to my blog readers. LOL.
Do you feel natural hair is a fad OR are women just naturally progressing toward self love?
I guess what I mean is, are women flocking to natural because they like hopping on any fashion trends that are launched or they naturally beginning to love self and their hair? ------------------------------- What are your thoughts? Let a sistah know below........................

Love Letter to my Hair

Dear Natural Hair: I am so madly in love with you! I am sitting here writing this love letter to you. I want to let you know that all I do is think of you. We met and as children, and rekindled our love just several years past. I am glad to say that I am more in love with you with you now, than I have ever been before. You make me complete . You make me whole. You were the missing key to my soul. Thank you for showing me how to love you and what true love REALLY is. Thank you for being so versatile and free. You helped to shape the "NATURAL" woman inside of me. Thank you for sticking with me through the good and the bad. People stop and stare and make sly remarks, but you allow me to walk free and walk upright with pride. I am so lucky to have you right by my Dear side. So,simply-thank you my love. thanks for the love. I love you back. I didn't know what I had til I gave up that crack. Love Always, Chas

FOR A GIRL Exclusively for BSBLOGS @ http://www.blacksistah.blogspot.com Girl, Hey! you rocking a natural ‘do? What happened to the old days- When we rocked perms, and weaves with glue? Girl, I simply grew up And my hair did too!! I retired the old And I found my roots. Now my hair is kickin Like a fresh pair of boots See, my roots were buried, but Not quite dead They were relaxing next to some old “HOTHEAD” I picked my roots up, embraced them and said, “Hello Roots and how are you? I’ve neglected you far too long, How’s about a truce?” The Roots softly whispered, “Why thank you. You’re so kind, Will you promise to love all of me? I’m black, kinky, and fine. My roots and I obliged each other, and fell in love this day Our love affair is one of a kind and so DIVINE. They keep me grounded, and I keep them on track. We are so happy, we have not looked back! I told that “Hothead” get off that creamy crack. The crack is WHACK!!! Anyhow, GIRL: This is why I rock my new ‘do You wouldn’t understand my praise And I don’t expect you to! So do me a favor and continue to do what you ‘do!!! Original work by: Miss Chastity Williams 12/15/2011

Camera Fun

So, today I have been finding opportunities to snap shots of the fro I am Rocking with my phone. The first pic is of my box braids/plaits that resulted in the following Afro style. The app I used is called Camera Fun, and it's free in the Android Market. The prods used: Coconut oil, water/leave-in-conditioner spray mix, and an Afro pick. I finalized the style by pushing it back with a silk scarf. Enjoy!
